We are hiring a Multi‑Skilled Automation Shift Engineer for an Automated DC position in Milton Keynes. The full‑time on‑site role offers a final salary including shift allowance of £55,987.00, with further increases tied to a continuous professional development plan.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure production targets are consistently met every shift.
- Oversee operating procedures, prioritising safety.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
- Identify and resolve technical problems efficiently.
- Implement strategies for continuous improvement of processes and performance.
- Repair equipment and automated systems to maintain smooth operations.
- Accurately document and report any issues encountered during shifts.
- Collaborate effectively with other teams to achieve production goals through communication and problem‑solving.
Relevant engineering experience (minimum NVQ Level
3) or equivalent/transferrable skills. Full legal rights to work in the UK; visa sponsorship not available.
- Minimum NVQ Level 3 in engineering or related field.
- Prior experience as a multi‑skilled electrical/mechanical engineer with strong technical knowledge.
- Familiarity with safety procedures and regulations.
- Knowledge of advanced quality‑management systems.
- Experience maintaining and repairing machinery and production equipment.
- Experience with industrial networks and control systems.
- Excellent analytical and critical‑thinking skills; able to work under pressure.
- Experience carrying out planned maintenance and following procedures.
- Ability to perform root‑cause analysis and improve machine reliability.
- Willingness to learn, adapt and take ownership of issues.
- Team‑oriented and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity and willingness to work at height.
- Multi‑skilled electrical or mechanical background, e.g., mechanical, electrical, automation, industrial engineering.
- Degree, HNC/HND/BTEC/C&G or equivalent.
- Understanding of quality‑management system importance.
- Experience updating task or spare‑parts records in a CMMS.
- Full PPE provided.
