Graduate Quality Engineer 2026

Ferrovial Construction UK&I, the UK‑based arm of the Ferrovial Group, is the largest private transport infrastructure operator in terms of capital invested. With a presence across 15 countries and over 60 years’ experience, we design and construct high‑profile transport projects in the UK and Ireland, delivering complex major projects with cost‑effective, value‑added solutions.

The Role

As a Graduate Quality Engineer, you will support day‑to‑day activities on major UK infrastructure projects within Ferrovial’s two‑year graduate development programme. You will work under the supervision of Quality Managers and contribute to quality and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Contribute to the achievement of Health and Safety in accordance with company policy and ensure Quality standards on our projects are upheld.

Key Accountabilities
  • Assist in writing and reviewing quality documentation, including Quality Management Plans and Inspection and Test Plans.
  • Support the development of briefing and communication strategies to ensure quality plans are understood and implemented by all employees and subcontractors.
  • Assist in monitoring compliance of construction works on site and relevant documentation in accordance with Works Information, Ferrovial standards and relevant Technical Standards.
  • Assist in carrying out reports for the senior Quality team and support the Project Quality Manager with investigations and audits.
  • Provide guidance on quality requirements and best practice, promoting continuous improvement and innovation across the site team and the business.
  • Promote Ferrovial Construction UK’s vision and values, taking ownership of assigned work.
  • Adhere to safe working practice regulations on‑site and support Environmental and Sustainability policies and procedures.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to interact at a variety of levels.
  • Excellent written and oral English language skills.
  • Degree or Masters (all disciplines considered).
  • Right to work in the UK by the start of employment.
  • Motivated to learn and add value to the team and the Graduate Programme.
  • Analytical thinker who enjoys problem solving and can work effectively under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Proactive approach to working and learning.
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of the industry.
  • Familiarity with all Microsoft packages.
  • Technical Knowledge (Civil, Mechanical and/or Electrical).
Interpersonal Skills
  • Logical thinker with a willingness to learn.
  • Resilient and flexible approach to working.
  • Results‑driven with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation.
  • Quality experience and CSCS Card.
