• Assess surface quality and legality of all group project surface files and feedback as required.
• Develop time‑saving efficiencies within the surface model structures.
• Work with CAD specialists to develop software improvements, including macros, to increase efficiency in the surfacing and model design process.
• Monitor and adjust project specifications to suit varying workload and deadlines.
• Finalise files, including legality checks, of surface to be released to full‑size production and maintain appropriate reference documentation.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior members of the composite design team.
• Act as a cross‑functional point of contact for other relevant departments and engineering disciplines to integrate surface design seamlessly into the overall car design.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the surface design team.
• Maintain a professional attitude and promote a positive image for the department, team, and sponsors.
• Keep aero tracking systems up to date and execute day‑to‑day tasks as required.

• Strong degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
• Solid foundation of engineering principles and their application to engineering problems.
• Experience in CAD systems, preferably in Siemens NX.
• Microsoft Office literate.
• Clear and concise communication.
• Ability to plan and manage own workloads.
• Ability to feedback suggestions for improvements.
• Continual personal development with bias to time and quality efficiencies.
• Initiative and innovation.
• Organised and methodical approach to work with excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills.
