Commissioning Engineer (Switchgear) South England Experience Dependent + Bonus + Commercial Vehicle + Private Medical

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join a leading engineering organisation delivering critical electrical infrastructure projects across the UK. Working within a highly skilled service team, you'll play a key role in commissioning, testing and supporting electrical distribution systems for customers across a range of industrial, utility and infrastructure environments.

This is a field-based position offering exposure to complex projects, advanced technologies and excellent long-term career development opportunities.

• Commission, test and fault-find LV, 11kV and 33kV electrical distribution systems.
• Commission and configure switch gear, protection relays and associated control equipment.
• Support installation, maintenance, repair, upgrade and retrofit activities.
• Deliver technical support both remotely and on customer sites.
• Assist with SCADA systems including commissioning, troubleshooting and field support.
• Produce commissioning reports and project documentation to a high standard.
• Provide technical guidance and consultancy to customers and internal stakeholders.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships, ensuring a high level of service delivery.
• Identify opportunities for additional service, maintenance and upgrade solutions.
• Ensure all activities are completed safely and in line with industry standards and company procedures.
• Travel throughout the UK to support customer projects, including occasional overnight stays.

• Degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or Electrical & Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years' experience within switch gear commissioning, testing or field service engineering.
• Strong knowledge of electrical protection commissioning and relay testing.
• Experience working with LV, 11kV and 33kV electrical networks.
• Proven background supporting and commissioning SCADA systems.
• Experience using protection testing and commissioning software.
• Strong understanding of current electrical safety legislation and best practice.
• Excellent communication and customer-facing skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload across multiple sites.
• Full UK driving licence.
