Iver, Buckinghamshire We’re looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead and support a high-performing commercial team across two clean water Rapid Gravity Filter schemes in the Windsor area, with a combined value of approximately this role, you’ll play a key part in shaping commercial strategy, driving performance, and ensuring strong governance across projects delivered under NEC4 Option C contracts. You’ll collaborate closely with project and commercial teams to manage costs, risks, and opportunities, while fostering a positive, inclusive team environment where people can develop and thrive.
About the Role You’ll take responsibility for the commercial management and successful delivery of:
Iver WTW Rapid Gravity Filter Enhancement Scheme (~40m)
Egham WTW Rapid Gravity Filter Enhancement Scheme (~15m)
These projects involve the construction of new Rapid Gravity Treatment Plants alongside upgrades to existing water treatment facilities. They form part of a long-term Affinity Water framework with a planned completion in December 2027. What you'll be doing:
Promoting and supporting a safe, inclusive working environment
Leading the development and implementation of commercial strategies from project inception through to completion
Supporting and developing team members, encouraging continuous learning and wellbeing
Ensuring robust cost control, forecasting, and reporting (including CVRs and commercial reports)
Managing subcontract procurement, including preparation, negotiation, and administration of contracts
Overseeing subcontract performance, valuations, and change management processes
Ensuring timely production and submission of contractual notices and compensation events
Leading the preparation and agreement of monthly applications for payment
Identifying, managing, and mitigating risks and opportunities to improve project outcomes
Working collaboratively with operational, engineering, and leadership teams to ensure effective project controls
Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
Supporting achievement of business performance targets (including cash flow, profitability, and delivery goals)
About you:
A relevant degree and/or equivalent professional experience
Professional membership (e.g. MRICS, MCIOB), or working towards it (desirable)
Experience in civil engineering projects, ideally within the water sector
Experience working on large or complex infrastructure schemesA good understanding of NEC4 contracts
Strong commercial awareness, including cost management and reporting
Confidence using IT systems (e.g. Excel, Word, and contract/cost systems such as CEMAR, Asite, or Orbit)
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills
