How you’ll play your part
In this role, you will lead pricing excellence across our multiple sales channels, that include retail, fleet, rental and car schemes. You will own the pricing processes, commercial frameworks and delivery. You will combine strategic pricing design with operational delivery: building robust financial models, running data‑driven experiments, ensuring pricing is auditable and compliant. You will also support strategic projects from initial scope and business case through to launch and continuous improvement.
Main Accountabilities
Pricing process ownership and delivery: own the pricing engine, calculation logic and commission structures; define the roadmap, ensuring SLAs for price publication and integrity.
Pricing strategy and channel planning: develop and maintain channel pricing for annual planning, scenario analysis and month‑by‑month margin tracking; lead fleet channel design and deal‑by‑deal margin analysis with rebalancing for future quarters.
Financial modelling and forecasting: build robust models to evaluate pricing scenarios, sensitivity analyses and profitability impacts; translate volumes, costs and risks into actionable pricing decisions.
Governance, auditability and compliance: implement pricing governance frameworks, maintain audit trails for pricing logic, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements including consumer protection standards.
Cross‑functional partnership and representation: act as the operational partner for Finance, Risk, Operations, Compliance and Mercedes‑Benz UK; present proposals and influence stakeholders at mid to senior levels.
Ad‑hoc pricing support and product reviews: provide expert analysis on settlements, contract extensions, product profitability, fair value and Consumer Duty reviews.
Continuous improvement and operational excellence: run post‑release reviews, capture learnings, reduce regressions and drive automation to scale pricing operations.
Advanced analytics, experimentation and AI: use data and controlled experiments to test pricing ideas — run A/B and multivariate tests, analyse results with SQL and analytics tools, to identify margin opportunities and validate price changes before rollout.
About you
Technical skills: advanced Excel and BI (Power BI/Tableau); strong financial modelling and scenario planning; SQL or equivalent data querying skills; familiarity with ML/AI concepts and integration.
Analytical mindset: experience with experimentation frameworks, causal analysis and translating data into commercial decisions.
