We’re seeking a Volunteer Finance Trustee to join our Board and play a key role in guiding the financial strategy for our vital homelessness service in Milton Keynes.

A dedicated Finance Trustee will strengthen Unity

MK’s financial oversight at a critical time for the charity and the communities we serve. With increasing demand for homelessness support and a complex funding environment, strong strategic financial leadership is essential to ensure long-term sustainability.

This role will help the Board better understand financial performance, cash flow, reserves and risk, enabling informed decision‑making and responsible growth. The Finance Trustee will provide constructive challenge, ensure compliance with Charity SORP and relevant regulations, and support robust financial controls and policies.

By bringing senior‑level financial expertise to the Board, the Finance Trustee will also enhance our credibility with funders, auditors and partners. Ultimately, this role will help ensure that Unity

MK can continue to use its resources effectively and maximise impact for people experiencing homelessness in Milton Keynes.

We’re looking for a CCAB‑qualified accountant with an understanding of charity SORP who can communicate financial information clearly to non‑financial colleagues, think strategically, and is committed to making a difference in the lives of people experiencing homelessness.

MK is seeking a qualified accountant to join our Board as Finance Trustee (Treasurer) and help shape the financial future of a charity supporting people experiencing homelessness in Milton Keynes.

You will provide strategic oversight of Unity

MK’s finances, ensuring long‑term sustainability, strong financial controls and compliance with Charity SORP and relevant regulations. Working closely with the Chair, Trustees, CEO and Finance Manager, you’ll review management accounts, budgets and statutory reports, offer constructive challenge, and support informed decision‑making at Board level.
