Assistant Accountant – Industrial Placement
Closing date: 12 June 2026
We are looking for an Assistant Accountant for a 12‑month fixed‑term industrial placement starting summer 2026. The role focuses on ensuring the completeness and accuracy of financial data, and supporting month‑end reporting and reconciliations.
Responsibilities- Assist in daily Treasury proceedings using Bloomberg software and provide economic explanations to non‑Finance staff.
- Support the delivery of daily business report summaries to various departments.
- Complete external surveys for the Office for National Statistics, the Bank of England and the FLA within tight time frames.
- Assist in month‑end activities, including raising journals and running operating expenditure reports for all departments.
- Invoice partner companies for subsidy payments.
- Support account reconciliations for individuals within the Finance department.
- Undertake ad‑hoc tasks and analysis as requested by management, including project work.
- Attend and support preparation for meetings with senior Directors.
- Good knowledge of Excel.
- Good knowledge of SAP (training provided).
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver results while supporting company values.
- Flexible and able to multi‑task to meet deadlines.
- Strong team player with a quick learning style and sound decision‑making.
- Excellent analytical, investigative and reconciliation skills.
- Strong time‑management skills and responsibility for planning and prioritising workload.
- Effective communicator with Finance and non‑Finance staff at all levels.
