About The Role
As Payroll & Accounts Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day finance operations, ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of payroll and core accounting processes. Working closely with senior management, you will provide reliable financial information, maintain robust controls, and support effective business decision-making. The role offers broad exposure across payroll, ledgers, credit control, reconciliations, and management accounting, with the autonomy to drive improvements and enhance efficiencies across the finance function.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing and oversee payroll administration.
- Take ownership of the purchase ledger and sales ledger.
- Manage AP and AR activities, including supplier payments, customer receipts, and queries.
- Lead credit control processes, monitoring aged debt, chasing outstanding balances, and supporting effective cash collection.
- Perform regular bank reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies where required.
- Support month-end accounting processes.
- Assist with the preparation of management accounts.
Key Requirements
- Proven experience in a Payroll Manager role, or similar senior role with responsibility for both payroll and accounts
- Strong experience managing end-to-end payroll within a busy and fast-paced business environment.
- Solid working knowledge of AP and AR processes.
- Previous experience within credit control.
- Experience performing bank reconciliations and supporting month-end accounting activities.
- Good understanding of management accounting principles.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and ownership.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Confident communication skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across the business.
- Ability to work independently whilst contributing positively as part of a wider team.
