This role will sit in the Pricing Team, reporting into the Pricing Data Science Manager. The team is responsible for managing our loss ratio, underwriting footprint, broker optimisation and growth targets, proving integral to driving the business forwards. • Developing a deep understanding of Marshmallow’s quote, policy and claims data and use this to derive insights that can be used to enhance our motor insurance pricing.

• Owning one of the strategic initiatives of the pricing team, such as building our risk pricing rate structure or supporting our expansion plans

• Communicating & get­ting buy‑in for your plans to heads of & directors cross‑functionally

• Proposing tests, features & segmentations to help us better understand our customers.

• Working with other members of the pricing team to recommend changes and monitor their impact.

• Identify new sources of external data that enable us to refine our view of claims risk, and conduct analysis to quantify their value.

• Working directly with our Engineering & MLENG functions to implement pricing proposals.

• Providing analytical support in relationships with reinsurers, regulators and other partners.

• Lead in producing and developing appropriate monitoring for pricing and other stakeholders.

• Contribute to the specification, development and testing cycles for deployment of rates.

• Support in the creation, maintenance and deployment of rating models that predict claims cost and market prices.

• Ability to combine domain & analytical skills to generate novel pricing proposals

• At least 3 years of experience working in a data driven Commercial role (ideally in insurance pricing)
