The OpportunityA high-growth, Private Equity-backed B2B services group is seeking an ambitious FP&A Manager to take on a pivotal role at the centre of its finance transformation journey.
Operating across a multi-entity, contract-driven environment with revenues in the region of £80–100m, the business is executing a buy-and-build strategy and integrating recently acquired operations, creating both complexity and opportunity within the finance function.
At present, the organisation lacks the forward-looking analytical infrastructure required to fully support decision-making and meet investor expectations. This role has a clear and exciting mandate: to build that capability from the ground up.
This is not a conventional FP&A position. The successful candidate will lead the development of a modern, data-driven and increasingly automated finance function — with AI at its core.
Reporting directly to the CFO and working closely with the CEO, COO and PE stakeholders, the role offers exceptional exposure and the opportunity to materially influence how the business plans, operates and creates value.
This is a rare opportunity to build something genuinely cutting-edge within a traditional sector.
The RoleThe FP&A Manager will own the group’s forward-looking financial intelligence, including budgeting, forecasting, modelling and board reporting, while simultaneously leading the adoption of AI and automation across the finance function.
This role sits at the intersection of finance, data and technology. You will not only produce insights but design the systems, models and processes that generate them — ensuring they are accurate, scalable and increasingly automated.
A defining feature of this position is acting as the internal AI champion for finance, driving the adoption of tools such as Copilot and other AI technologies to transform reporting, analysis and efficiency across the team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the adoption of AI and automation within the finance function, acting as the internal subject matter expert
- Identify and eliminate manual processes through AI, automation and improved data flows
- Build and maintain a fully integrated financial model (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow)
- Own the annual budgeting process, reforecasting cycles and scenario planning
- Produce robust cash flow forecasts, including 13-week and 12-month views
- Own the production of monthly board packs, including commentary and KPI tracking
- Develop investor-grade reporting and support CFO preparation for board engagement
- Build and maintain KPI frameworks aligned to value creation objectives
- Design and manage data architecture between finance and operational systems
- Develop dashboards and reporting tools to improve real-time business insight
- Ensure accurate and automated contract-level P&L reporting
- Support M&A activity, including modelling, synergy analysis and integration planning
- Deliver commercial insights across pricing, margin, churn and operational performance
- Support and enhance the capability of the wider finance team, particularly Finance Business Partners
- Establish best-in-class modelling, data and reporting standards across the function
The business is seeking a high-potential, forward-thinking finance professional who combines strong analytical capability with a genuine passion for technology and innovation.
Ideal candidates will possess- A recognised professional qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent experience
- Proven experience within FP&A, commercial finance or management accounting in a complex, operational business
- Strong financial modelling capability, including integrated models and scenario analysis
- Experience producing board-level reporting and commercial insights
- Background in a contract-driven B2B services environment
- Hands‑on experience using AI tools (e.g. Copilot or similar) within a finance setting
- Experience with automation, data tools or reporting platforms (e.g. Power BI or similar)
- Strong systems and data skills, with the ability to connect and optimise multiple data sources
- A highly structured and detail‑oriented approach, with a focus on data accuracy and integrity
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate financial insights to non‑finance stakeholders
- A proactive, solution‑focused mindset with the ability to operate in a fast‑changing environment
- A genuine enthusiasm for AI and the ambition to build a modern, technology‑enabled finance function
For an individual looking to step into a high-impact, future‑focused FP&A role — with the opportunity to lead AI adoption, build best‑in‑class financial infrastructure and gain direct exposure to senior leadership and investors — this represents a truly standout career opportunity.
