Qualified senior finance leader required for a hands-on operational role in fast-paced, regulated environment.

Your new role
As Financial Controller, you will act as the number two to the CFO, taking ownership of day-to-day financial operations and ensuring robust financial control across the business.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading cash flow management and working capital optimisation
  • Managing banking relationships and financing arrangements
  • Overseeing accounts payable, receivable, and billing processes
  • Reviewing and finalising monthly management accounts with clear insights
  • Validating revenue, margins, and financial accuracy across operational activity
  • Driving improvements in financial processes, controls, and reporting
  • Leading and developing a small finance team
This is a hands-on role where you will play a critical part in strengthening financial performance and supporting business growth.

What you'll need to succeed
To excel in this role, you will bring:
  • A fully qualified accounting qualification (ACA / ACCA / CIMA)
  • Strong experience in cash flow management and working capital
  • Exposure to invoice discounting or financing arrangements
  • Proven ability to produce and finalise management accounts
  • A hands-on, operational mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Advanced Excel skills
Desirable experience includes:
  • Healthcare, staffing, or project-based revenue environments
  • Experience with timesheet or contractor-led revenue models
  • Familiarity with Xero or similar systems
