# Electoral Services Officer## Job Introduction Milton Keynes is a vibrant and growing city at the heart of Buckinghamshire. As a unitary authority, we serve a diverse population across both urban and rural communities and work closely with our parish councils. We elect by thirds and are proud to support a strong and active local democracy. Milton Keynes gained city status in 2022 and is recognised as one of the UK's most innovative places, with around one in three jobs linked to the technology sector.

Our Electoral Services team plays a vital role in ensuring elections and democratic processes are delivered accurately, fairly and efficiently. We have a strong, experienced and knowledgeable team with a reputation for innovation, having recently delivered the country's first election day Central Voting Hub pilot during the local elections.

Whether you're looking to build a career in electoral services through a structured development pathway or you're already an experienced electoral professional seeking your next challenge, this is the role for you. You'll join a dedicated and collaborative team where you'll help deliver elections, maintain the electoral register and support democratic participation across Milton Keynes. We will support you to develop your skills and make a real difference to residents and local democracy.
** To help us find the right person for our team, we've created both development and experienced level opportunities, allowing us to match the role to your skills, experience and career aspirations while supporting your continued growth and development.
** Applicants only need to submit one application and will be considered for both positions.

If invited to interview, we'll discuss the opportunities with you in more detail and explore which role best matches your experience and career aspirations.
** However, to be considered for a particular opportunity only, please state this in your personal statement.
**** This is a Site-Based role.
**** Interviews for this role will be held on 29th October 2026
** At Milton Keynes City Council, we aim to make a difference every day. We're dedicated, respectful and collaborative. We act as one council, and we work hard to create cleaner, safer and healthier communities while tackling inequalities and supporting people to thrive.

We take pride in our supportive work culture and try to go that extra mile when it comes to investing in our colleagues.
