Apprentice Hairdresser

Kickstart your career in hairdressing with this exciting Apprenticeship opportunity! You’ll gain hands‑on experience in a professional salon, learning cutting, colouring, styling and client care from experienced stylists, while working towards a recognised qualification.

Changes are a Milton Keynes based independent hair salon group established in 1981 by John McBreen. Our salons are located in Willen, Walnut Tree, Great Linford, and Broughton Gate and our barbers are located in Willen and Broughton Gate; all locations offer free parking. Responsibilities:

• Preparing the salon for the day, including setting up stations, preparing colours, organising perm/colour trolleys, and cutting foils Shampooing and conditioning clients’ hair
• Applying hair treatments
• Carrying out reception duties such as re-booking clients, answering the phone, and taking payments
• Delivering excellent customer service, including offering refreshments, taking coats, and gowning clients for services
• Assisting stylists by passing tools and materials as required
• Maintaining salon cleanliness, including dusting retail displays, mopping, and completing end‑of‑day cleaning tasks
• Blow drying clients’ hair (once competent and required unit is completed for insurance purposes)
• Applying toners (once competent and required unit is completed for insurance purposes)
• Being flexible to cover shifts in other salons during holidays and sickness
• Attending internal and external training courses as required
