Main duties of the job

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and forward-thinking Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine (SEM) to join our new Integrated Care System (ICS)-wide Musculoskeletal and Pain Service across Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes.

This is a unique opportunity to help shape the future of integrated musculoskeletal care within an innovative and evolving service. As a senior clinical leader, you will combine expert clinical practice with leadership, education and service development, helping to deliver outstanding patient care while influencing the future direction of MSK and Pain services across the IC system.

Working within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team alongside Advanced Practice Physiotherapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists and other MSK specialists, you will provide expert assessment and management of complex musculoskeletal presentations. You will play a pivotal role in supporting clinical decision-making, developing innovative models of care and delivering evidence-based practice that improves patient outcomes, enhances patient experience and reduces unwarranted variation across the system.

This role offers the opportunity to practise the full breadth of modern Sport and Exercise Medicine, combining advanced clinical assessment, diagnostic musculoskeletal ultrasound, image-guided interventions, education, clinical leadership and service development within an integrated community-based service.
