Data Protection Advisor

Location: Milton Keynes

Hours:

35 hours per week, hybrid

Salary: £45,000

Mixxos are partnering with a leading, highly respected professional body to recruit a Data Protection Advisor into their in-house data protection team.

This is a genuinely varied advisory role, offering exposure across data protection compliance, policy and best practice. You'll support stakeholders across the organisation, provide trusted guidance, and play an active role in ensuring data protection obligations are met in a practical and proportionate way.

Key responsibilities of a Data Protection Advisor

  • Providing data protection advice across a wide range of queries, processes and compliance matters
  • Supporting programmes of work and projects relating to data protection
  • Acting as a point of support for departmental data protection leads
  • Assisting with Data Subject Rights requests under GDPR, including subject access and erasure
  • Supporting stakeholders with Data Protection Impact Assessments
  • Legitimate Interest Assessments and due diligence reviews
  • Assisting with data breaches, complaints and other data protection incidents
  • Contributing to internal data protection awareness, education and compliance activity
  • Supporting the review and updating of policies, procedures and Privacy Notices

What you need for a Data Protection Advisor

  • Experience as a paralegal or data protection professional
  • Relevant legal or data protection qualification, or proven in-house experience within a data protection function
  • A solid understanding of GDPR and PECR
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to advise stakeholders
