This role is ideal for an experienced technical pre-sales leader who enjoys being hands-on with customers while shaping strategy, mentoring teams, and influencing commercial success at a senior level.

The Role:

Head of Solutions Architecture

As Head of Solutions Architecture, you will lead and develop the Solutions Engineering function, acting as the senior technical authority across the commercial organisation.

You will work closely with customers to understand their business challenges, identify opportunities, and design tailored solutions that clearly demonstrate value and measurable outcomes. Combining technical depth with commercial awareness, you will support the full sales lifecycle — from discovery through to proposal and delivery alignment.

This is a highly customer-centric position, involving regular client meetings, workshops, webinars, and industry events. Internally, you will collaborate closely with sales leadership while mentoring an established team of Solutions Engineers, setting the standard for best practice, technical excellence, and customer engagement.

Reporting directly into senior leadership, this role sits at the heart of the company’s growth strategy and offers genuine scope for long-term influence and progression.

Key Responsibilities:

Head of Solutions Architecture

Lead, mentor, and inspire the Solutions Engineering team, providing both strategic direction and hands-on leadership
Deliver high-quality technical pre-sales support to new and existing customers
Act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the full sales lifecycle
Partner with sales teams on discovery, qualification, and solution design
Deliver compelling product demonstrations, presentations, webinars, and customer workshops
Design and execute tailored demonstrations and Proofs of Concept (POCs)
Evaluate technologies and recommend best-fit solutions aligned to client needs
Own solution architecture documentation and contribute to proposals, scopes of work, and tender responses

Essential:
Head of Solutions Architecture

Proven experience in a senior Technical Pre-Sales Engineer or Solutions Architect position
Background within an IT MSP or VAR environment
Broad technical knowledge across IT infrastructure and security
Strong customer-facing experience across pre-sales, consultancy, or technical delivery
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
Strong written documentation skills, including proposals and technical responses
Proactive, driven, and committed to delivering high standards
Willingness to travel nationally as required
Full UK driving licence and right to work in the UK Desirable:
Head of Solutions Architecture

Previous experience leading or managing a technical or pre-sales team
Certifications or hands-on experience across enterprise technologies (e.g. networking, security, virtualisation, Microsoft Azure/M365)
Experience presenting to varied audience sizes, including webinars and large workshops
Evidence of technical thought leadership or content creation
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance technical depth and business value
Excellent organisational and relationship-building skills
