THE DIFFERENCE YOU MAKESantander UK is looking for a Network Subject Matter Expert based out of Milton Keynes.
We are seeking a Network SME to work alongside the Technical Service Manager (TSM) to ensure the network service is healthy, risks are being managed, and suppliers or engineering teams are delivering the expected outcome.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating across operations, security, vendor, and service management teams to maintain the availability, resilience, and regulatory compliance of business-critical network services.
The ideal candidate will have 5-10+ years of hands‑on networking experience and be comfortable operating at both a technical and service-management level, supporting incident resolution, driving service improvements, overseeing governance processes, and managing supplier relationships.
- Acting as the technical expert for network services
- Reviewing service performance, incidents, problems, and changes
- Advising the TSM on technical risks, priorities, and improvements
- Challenging suppliers or support teams when service levels are not being met
- Supporting major incident resolution and root cause analysis
- Assessing the impact of network changes and projects
- Ensuring network services align with business and operational requirements
- Providing technical input for governance, reporting, and service reviews

- Experience in Enterprise networking in LAN/WAN across IOS, EOS. (Required)
- Experience in Routing and switching in BGP, OSPF, VLANs, STP. (Required)
- Experience in SD-WAN, Firewalls, DNS, IPAM and Load Balancers. (Required)
- Proven background with exposure to Incident, Problem & Change Management. (Required)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders, including senior leadership and non-technical audiences. (Required)
- Experience in using ticketing and ITSM tools e.g., Jira, Service Now. (Required)
