Account Handler

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Insurance Account Handler to join our client to manage client portfolios and deliver high-touch service across renewals, mid-term adjustments (MTAs), and claims support. As the Account Handler, you will play a key role as the operational link between policyholders, underwriters, and account executives. As the Account Handler you will be responsible for:
Portfolio & Client Management:
Act as the primary point of contact for a dedicated portfolio of insurance clients, handling queries, policy modifications, and day-to-day servicing. Renewals & Broking:
Prepare detailed renewal documentation, market risks to underwriters, analyse quotes, and negotiate competitive terms for clients. Mid-Term Adjustments (MTAs):
Process policy additions, alterations, and cancellations accurately within company guidelines and FCA compliance frameworks. Claims Handling & Support:
Act as an advocate for clients during the claims process, coordinating with loss adjusters and insurers to ensure prompt claims settlements. Cross-Selling & Retainers:
Identify gaps in client coverage to suggest additional risk management solutions and support high client retention rates. Compliance & Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate policy logs on internal insurance management systems (e.g., Acturis, Open GI, SSP) adhering to regulatory standards. As the Account Handler you will have:
Insurance

Experience:

Experience of working as an Account Handler, Broker, or Customer Service Specialist within Commercial or Personal Lines insurance. Technical Knowledge:
Understanding of policy terms, indemnity limits, underwriting criteria, and FCA regulations. System Proficiency:
Hands-on experience using broker management software (e.g., Acturis, SSP, Open GI) alongside Microsoft Excel and Word. Communication:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills for negotiating with underwriters and advising clients.

Certifications:

Cert CII qualification (or progress toward CII exams) is highly desirable. Our client is offering the Account Handler:
