Mobile Vehicle Technician

Join the RAC as a Mobile Vehicle Technician in our SMR Division - a new era of mobile repair.

• Carry out routine servicing
• Use advanced mobile diagnostic equipment
• Complete in‑depth repairs normally done in a workshop
• Offer member advice and recommendations based on inspection
• Perform vehicle safety checks aligned to RAC standards

40 hours per week, Monday to Saturday, with core hours 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and a 1 in 4 Saturday shift. Overtime is guaranteed and can be opted for.

• Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles
• A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points

• Earnings That Motivate – base salary £40,170, up to £52,000 with bonuses and overtime

Work independently on driveways and car parks, interact directly with members, give reassurance and clear service. The role requires practical hands‑on skills, problem‑solving, and confidence in decision making.
