About the role

As a Driver in GAP’s Plant & Tool Division, you will be at the heart of our operations, delivering essential equipment such as diggers, dumpers, and power tools to construction, utilities, and infrastructure sites across the UK.
Your responsibilities include:
- Delivering and collecting plant equipment to and from customer sites, completing all paperwork accurately (including damage checks, fuel levels, and authorised signatures)
- Starting machines on‑site when requested and demonstrating equipment use where needed
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and basic maintenance to ensure roadworthiness and safety
- Safely loading and unloading equipment using correct strapping and securing methods
- Tagging damaged machines on return and placing them in the correct depot area
- Maintaining a clean and organised vehicle and supporting general depot duties
- Following customer site Health & Safety rules and using digital tachographs in line with legislation
We are looking for a reliable, safety‑conscious, and customer‑focused individual. Key qualifications include:
- Proven experience in a driving role, ideally delivering plant or tool equipment
- Full UK driving licence with Category C (HGV) entitlement
- Good understanding of Health & Safety procedures and safe working practices
- Strong attention to detail and ability to complete paperwork accurately
- A professional, friendly approach when dealing with customers and colleagues
