Job Overview

At RAC, we appreciate the dedication of our colleagues who go the extra mile for our customers. In return, we offer a market‑competitive base salary of £42,921.87 (inclusive of night allowance) complemented by an average on‑target earnings (OTE) ranging from £43,000 to £53,000.

You will start and finish your day at home, delivering expert mechanical roadside repair, vehicle diagnostics, and emergency breakdown support across the UK.

• Luton cluster – Luton, Dunstable, Houghton Regis, Harpenden, St Albans, Hemel Hempstead, Tring, Amersham, Rickmansworth, Chorleywood
• Northampton cluster – Northampton, Kettering, Corby, Wellingborough, Daventry, Towcester, Rushden

• Provide roadside mechanical repair and vehicle diagnostics to members.
• Manage flat batteries, tyre changes, and complex fault‑finding tasks.
• Deliver quick, confident solutions and reassurance at roadside incidents.
• Work independently from home base, responding to call‑outs across the local area.

• Either NVQ Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent) with 2+ years’ experience, or 5+ years’ experience as a vehicle technician/mechanic.
• Full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 points.

• Strong base pay – £42,921.87 a year with realistic OTE of £60,000; top performers can earn significantly more through bonuses and enhanced overtime rates.
