Role Overview
We are seeking reliable and detail-oriented Food Production Operatives to join our production team. This role is integral to the efficient, safe, and consistent production of food products, ensuring all items meet required quality, safety, and customer standards. The successful candidate will work within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment and contribute to maintaining high operational standards across the site.
Key Responsibilities
Production & Operations
* Carry out food preparation, processing, and production tasks in line with production schedules and specifications
* Operate, monitor, and clean production machinery and equipment in accordance with training and procedures
* Ensure products meet quality, weight, and presentation standards throughout the production process
* Accurately complete production records, checks, and documentation
Quality & Food Safety
* Comply fully with food safety, hygiene, allergen, and quality control procedures
* Perform routine quality checks and escalate any non-conformances promptly
* Work in line with HACCP, GMP, and internal food safety policies
* Maintain excellent standards of cleanliness and personal hygiene
Health & Safety
* Adhere to all health & safety policies and safe systems of work
* Use PPE correctly and report hazards, near misses, or incidents
* Support a safe working environment for colleagues and visitors
Teamwork & Communication
* Work effectively as part of a team to meet production targets and deadlines
* Follow instructions accurately and adapt to changing production requirements
* Support colleagues across different production areas when required
Continuous Improvement
* Contribute to efficiency, waste reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives
* Participate in training, skills development, and performance reviews
* Suggest improvements to processes, quality, or safety where appropriate
Candidate Requirements
Essential:
* Ability to work 12-hour shifts on a rotating rota
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
* Ability to work in a physically demanding and fast-paced environment
* Understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
* Reliable, punctual, and able to work well within a team
Desirable:
* Previous experience in food production or manufacturing
* Food Safety / Hygiene certification
* Experience operating production or packing machinery
* Knowledge of HACCP or quality management systems
