Job DescriptionRed Bull Powertrains has an exciting opportunity to join the team as we transition from building our team’s first Power Units to refining them into a race‑ready package, all aimed at delivering the most competitive car on the 2026 Formula One grid. We are seeking a CNC Honing Machinist to help drive the future of motor sport innovation. You will be based at our state‑of‑the‑art engineering and manufacturing facility in Milton Keynes, designed to produce high‑performance Power Units for the 2026 engine regulations.
The CNC Honing Machinist will be responsible for completing reliable, repeatable Cylinder Liner honing operations using state of the art CNC honing machines. This includes in‑process sub‑assembly and final finishing to the highest quality standards while working in strict adherence to technical drawings and procedures. The role also requires managing component specifications and revisions in accordance with Production Control and other Engineering departments to meet tight deadlines.
Flexibility and versatility are required to assist the wider Manufacturing group with other assembly tasks as and when needed.
- Work with the Manufacturing Team Leaders and PCG Group to understand priorities and deadlines.
- Understand production plans to ensure delivery dates are achieved and communicate any deviation from the plan.
- Ensure the quality of parts produced, carrying out all appropriate processes and identifying and correcting deviations from specification before progressing.
- Maintain effective communication with all shifts and departments to ensure work is transferred efficiently through the company.
- Prioritise daily workloads to maximise utilisation and productivity.
- Provide feedback via Production Engineering on manufacturing improvement, cost or lead‑time reduction suggestions.
- Liaise directly with external suppliers for honing machine servicing and repairs.
- Extensive knowledge of honing processes (minimum 5 years). Theory, process and hardware – Sunnen machine experience desirable.
- Confident verbal and written communicator who can follow achievable objectives, goals, strategies and measures.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and process sheets.
- Ability to work in a high‑pressure team environment and to be self‑motivated to meet tight deadlines.
- Flexibility to work additional shifts when required.
- Actively support the Apprentice and Junior training programme.
