Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineer - Electrical Bias
Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire | £33,000 - £44,000 per annum (depending on shift)
Permanent positions.
DescriptionWork for Europe’s leading automotive lighting manufacturer near Milton Keynes. Provide hands‑on electrical assistance in the maintenance, installation, commissioning, fault‑finding and decommissioning of plant and equipment. Mechanical aspects may also be required.
Working Hours- AM Shift: 7:00‑15:00
- PM Shift: 15:00‑23:00
- Night Shift: 23:00‑7:00
- Weekend Shift (Days): 7:00‑19:00
- Weekend Shift (Nights): 19:00‑7:00
- Provide reactive technical assistance and support in the repair and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and plant.
- Undertake robust plant malfunction repairs.
- Carry out fault‑finding and refurbishments as necessary.
- Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules.
- Develop and refine operating procedures to maximise efficiency and minimise waste.
- Train operators in safe equipment operation and promote up‑skilling.
- Develop and maintain process and plant efficiency measures for continuous improvement.
- Strive to eliminate and reduce waste within the manufacturing process.
- Plan and implement maintenance of jigs, fixtures, plant and equipment to minimise production losses while controlling costs.
- Assist in integrating new plant and equipment into the production environment.
- Maintain housekeeping standards using the 5S approach.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or relevant industrial environment.
- Knowledge of 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
- Experience in a fast‑paced reactive environment.
- Familiarity with plastic moulding machinery, robots, laser welders, coating machinery (beneficial but not essential).
- Project management skills in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with PLC programming and fault‑finding (beneficial).
- Experience with robotic programming (desirable but not essential).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Demonstrable track record of problem solving.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload using own initiative.
- Ability to work inclusively in a team environment.
