Position: Additive Manufacturing Technician (PU)

At Red Bull Powertrains, we’re redefining F1 power unit technology, pushing the limits of innovation and manufacturing grand prix winning power unit components. Join a team of talented individuals and visionaries dedicated to creating the future of motor sport. If you have the passion and expertise to drive excellence, the challenge starts here.

We are looking for a hands‑on Additive Support Technician to join our growing 3D print farm operation. This role is central to the day‑to‑day running of our expanding fleet of printers, ensuring machines are loaded, monitored, and unloaded efficiently, and that all completed components are finished, inspected, and correctly booked into stores.

The successful candidate will work closely with the wider Engineering team, supporting a high‑throughput environment where quality, attention to detail, and a methodical approach are essential.

Role Responsibilities
  • Load and unload build platforms and resin vats (SLA) or material cassettes/spools across the printer fleet.
  • Remove completed prints from build platforms with care, using appropriate tooling to avoid damage.
  • Use UV curing stations and wash/cure equipment in line with material and process requirements (SLA).
  • Perform routine printer servicing including filament changes, resin top‑ups, platform levelling, and general housekeeping.
  • Pack completed and inspected parts appropriately for storage or dispatch, including labelling and protective packaging.
  • Check post‑processed finished parts against drawings, models, or work order specifications for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and structural integrity.
Requirements for the role Essential
  • Practical, hands‑on manufacturing or workshop background.
  • Experience with deburring, finishing, or assembly operations in an engineering environment.
  • Comfortable working with digital measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, thread gauges).
  • Good attention to detail with a quality‑first mindset.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, technical drawings, and quality documentation.
  • Organised and self‑motivated, able to manage workload across multiple active jobs.
Desirable
  • Prior experience operating FDM, SLA, or other additive manufacturing equipment.
  • Familiarity with post‑processing of resin or polymer parts (washing, curing, sanding).
  • Experience using Epicor or similar system for booking in stock or recording job progress.
  • Understanding of COSHH requirements when handling resins, solvents, or UV materials.
  • Background in a motor sport, aerospace, or high‑performance engineering environment.
Benefits
  • Bonus scheme
  • Private healthcare
  • A pension scheme
  • On‑site gym
  • Free daily food allowance
  • And many more!
