Always spotting process improvements in manufacturing? Enjoy using data to support those improvements? Combine these skills in a modern facility where you’ll provide meaningful products to protect national security.
At HMGCC, you’ll work with some of the best equipment for manufacturing PCBs in the whole of the UK. You’ll join an innovative and forward-thinking team, operating a modern manufacturing facility producing unique, complex, high-reliability printed circuits.
As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will use your skills and experience to understand, baseline, and improve manufacturing processes, using both qualitative and quantitative data to identify opportunities and lead meaningful change. You will be joining a team who are passionate about continuous improvement and who value evidence-based decision-making as much as hands‑on process knowledge.
Your existing knowledge of manufacturing processes, whether from electronics or general manufacturing, will help you quickly get up to speed with processes, understand the requirements behind them, and identify where and how improvements can be made. You'll get involved in the full lifecycle of process development, from data capture and analysis through to implementation and validation of improvements.
You’ll enjoy working closely with a team to ensure the process chemistry and equipment are optimised and operating at their best, helping HMGCC remain at the forefront of high‑quality printed circuit manufacture.
More about youTo apply for this role, you will already have:

- Previous adherence of CoSHH and Health and Safety considerations relevant to a chemical/manufacturing environment.
- Experience of writing, reviewing and maintaining technical process documentation e.g. Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, process specifications.
It would be beneficial if you also have one of the following (although these are not essential):
- Electronic manufacturing background e.g. PCB manufacture, semiconductor fabrication, or similar high-precision manufacturing environments.
- Familiarity with the operation and maintenance of specialist manufacturing equipment, including working with suppliers and OEMs to optimise equipment performance and resolve technical issues.
You will be someone who:
- Displays behaviours that promote a collaborative working environment which supports equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Enjoys applying data and analysis to solve real-world manufacturing problems.
- Wants to join us in improving on yesterday, striving to be the best you can be for tomorrow.
- Learns from your mistakes and encourages others to do the same.
- Enjoys being part of a team, sharing knowledge and learning from others.
- Enjoys learning new technical processes and asking "why" to understand root causes.
- Can go with the flow, change is a big part of our organisation, and you will be able to adapt with the support of your team and management.
Using your diverse range of skills within the Manufacturing team, you will:
- Contribute to a dynamic and diverse team that is well funded with the latest technology.
- Have access to wider capability and subject matter experts to assist your learning of PCB manufacturing processes.
- Work with the team on baselining current processes, identifying…
