We are supporting a growing, people-focused retail business as they look to appoint an HR Business Partner to support their retail operations and wider people agenda.

This is a brilliant opportunity to join a business at an exciting stage of growth, where the retail estate is front and centre and people, culture and capability genuinely matter. Reporting into the People Director, you'll work closely with retail leaders to support performance, engagement and capability across the store network, while playing a key role in building strong, future‑fit teams.

This role will really suit someone who enjoys being close to the business, understands the realities of retail, and brings a strong recruitment background to support ongoing growth and change.

What you'll be doing
  • Partnering with Regional and Store Leaders to deliver pragmatic, hands‑on HR support across the retail estate
  • Coaching managers on performance, engagement, absence and employee relations
  • Leading on ER matters within a fast‑paced, customer‑facing environment
  • Supporting high‑volume and strategic recruitment across retail operations
  • Working closely with the People Director on workforce planning, succession and talent pipelines
  • Supporting organisational change, restructures and new store openings
  • Using people data and insight to identify trends and inform decision‑making
  • Playing an active role in shaping retail leadership capability and people processes
  • Acting as a visible, trusted partner in the business and championing a people‑first culture
About you
  • CIPD qualified (Level 7 preferred, or equivalent experience)
  • Strong HR Business Partner experience within a retail or multi‑site environment
  • A solid recruitment background, ideally supporting retail or operational hiring
  • Confident managing ER in a fast‑moving, operational setting
  • Comfortable balancing strategic partnering with hands‑on delivery
  • Commercial, pragmatic and solutions‑focused
  • Able to build strong relationships with operational leaders and influence at pace
  • Passionate about retail, people development and building great teams
