We’re partnering with a rapidly growing business-services organisation to appoint two to three ambitious New Business Development Executives.
This is an excellent opportunity for resilient, commercially driven individuals who want to build a long-term career in sales. You’ll begin in a telesales-focused position, developing your prospecting, relationship-building and appointment-setting skills before progressing into a field-based role where you’ll run appointments and close your own deals.
With an uncapped commission structure and a clear development route from telesales into field sales, this role rewards consistency, determination and a willingness to learn.
The OpportunityAs New Business Development Executive, you’ll play a central role in generating new business by contacting prospective customers across the UK.
You’ll identify organisations that may be overpaying for their existing services, approaching the end of a long-term contract or ready to review their current arrangements. Through phone-based prospecting and face-to-face canvassing, you’ll build rapport with decision-makers and secure qualified appointments for the wider sales team.
The organisation takes a traditional, phone-first approach to business development, so this role is ideally suited to someone who is confident picking up the phone—or genuinely committed to becoming highly effective at it.
As your confidence and results develop, you’ll progress into a trainee field-sales position, running appointments and closing deals yourself.
Key ResponsibilitiesYou’ll help support the continued growth of the business by:
- Making outbound cold calls to prospective business customers across the UK.
- Identifying relevant decision-makers and building rapport quickly.
- Understanding customers’ current arrangements and identifying suitable commercial opportunities.
- Booking qualified appointments for the wider sales team.
- Identifying organisations that may be overpaying or approaching the end of an existing contract.
- Canvassing local business parks and speaking directly with prospective customers.
- Distributing promotional materials and generating additional face-to-face leads.
- Helping prospective customers explore more affordable or suitable alternatives.
- Maintaining accurate records of calls, conversations, leads and appointments.
- Following up consistently with prospects and keeping opportunities moving.
- Working towards daily call and weekly appointment-setting targets.
- Progressing towards running and closing your own appointments in the field.
You’ll work towards clear and achievable activity targets, including:
- Approximately 60–100 outbound calls per day.
- Around five to eight qualified appointments booked each week.
Success in this role will require consistency, resilience and a willingness to develop over time.
About YouYou’ll be a motivated and resilient individual who is comfortable speaking with prospective customers and determined to build a successful career in sales.
Previous telesales or business development experience would be helpful, but attitude, confidence and work ethic are equally important.
You will also have:
- A genuine self-starting attitude and the ability to work independently.
- Confidence holding conversations over the phone.
- The ability to build rapport with prospective customers quickly.
- Resilience when handling rejection or challenging calls.
- A hard-working and consistent approach.
- The confidence to approach businesses and generate leads face to face.
- Strong organisational and follow-up skills.
- The ability to maintain accurate customer and sales records.
- A willingness to learn about the organisation’s products and services.
- Patience and realistic expectations about developing a successful sales career.
- A genuine ambition to progress from telesales into field sales.
- A positive, professional and commercially focused attitude.
You’ll begin by developing a detailed understanding of the organisation’s services, target market and sales approach while building…
