Business Development Executive

We are working with a growing construction materials business based in Milton Keynes who are looking to recruit a commercially driven Business Development Executive to join their expanding sales team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a background in sales, account management or business development who enjoys building relationships, identifying new opportunities and driving business growth. Working closely with and supporting the Sales Manager, you will take responsibility for a combination of developing existing customer accounts and securing new business.

Ideally, you will have experience within construction materials, industrial, commodities, manufacturing or a related sector. Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities. Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers. Proactively contact prospective customers and develop new accounts. Grow existing accounts by identifying additional sales opportunities. Understand customer requirements and recommend suitable products and solutions. Prepare quotations, negotiate pricing and follow up on sales opportunities.

Work closely with the Sales Manager to achieve business development objectives. Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity. Monitor market trends and identify opportunities to expand the customer base. Deliver a high level of customer service throughout the sales process. Previous experience in business development, account management or B2B sales. Ideally, experience within construction materials, industrial, commodity, manufacturing or materials sales.

Confident identifying new business opportunities and developing customer relationships. Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills. Commercially minded with a proactive and results-driven approach. Organised, motivated and comfortable working towards sales targets. A team player who enjoys contributing to a wider sales function.
