To work as a DCSO Officer, providing a high level of customer service at our client site. Act as the first point of contact for all staff and visitors entering the building. Liaise with the client and stakeholders. Work alongside the wider Security Team and all service lines on site. Ensure the protection of persons and property and thereby the provision of a safe and secure environment.
Duties- Maintain good order on site, including protecting everyone against violent acts, abuse and accident.
- Protect the client’s property against loss, theft, damage (including fire and water) and waste.
- Protect private property belonging to the client, their staff and visitors against loss, theft and damage.
- Prevent offences against the law of the land, Uni Trust disciplinary codes and policies and bring all to the attention of management.
- Ensure basic fire precautions are in place and escape routes are clear.
- Undertake internal and external patrols and inspections in accordance with Assignment Instruction/SOPs; utilise the patrolling and reporting system where applicable.
- Work with the reception team to meet and greet visitors and ensure relevant security procedures are carried out; some standing for more than an hour may be required.
- Escalate any security and maintenance issues to the Facilities Team via detailed and accurate emails/incident reports.
- Produce and administer access cards for tenants, visitors and contractors for the access control system.
- Monitor, elevate and respond to alarms as required with the CCTV, Security & BMS systems.
- As part of the Facilities Management Response Team, provide assistance with emergency procedures in accordance with instructions and training.
- Manage contractors for the client and tenants; liaise with tenants particularly during tenant fit‑out stage.
- Complete permit‑to‑work forms as required.
- Carry escort duties for contractors and some deliveries as required.
- Ensure that no unauthorised persons are permitted in prohibited areas.
- Maintain accurate records.
- Manage ad‑hoc projects/tasks.
- Monitor and respond to CCTV and intruder alarms.
- Liaise with Building Services for out‑of‑hours service calls.
- Key control and manage daily issues.
- Perform general security duties and duties in line with the front‑of‑house role as requested by the Facilities Team.
- Security Industry Training Organisation basic qualification or equivalent experience.
- First aid qualification is desired but not essential (training can be provided by company).
- CCTV licence required for this role.
- Minimum of 4 days on‑site training.
- Excellent literacy and communication skills, together with excellent verbal and written English.
- Good telephone manner.
- Computer literate – email, Word and Excel.
- Capable of using all security equipment necessary to efficiently perform the duties required of a professional security officer.
- Consistently smart appearance in the uniform provided and required by Unitrust and its clients.
- Reliability, energetic, self‑motivation and ability to use own initiative; work without supervision and cope with multiple tasks in a calm professional manner.
- Excellent time‑keeping at all times.
- Ability, tact and diplomacy to deal with people at all levels, including the client, client’s tenants and visitors in all circumstances, including emergencies and times of stress.
- Self‑confidence and interest in self‑development.
- Excellent physical fitness to enable the post holder to perform patrol and emergency response duties efficiently and effectively.
- The role is such that it is critical the post holder maintains an excellent record of attendance and time‑keeping.
