Software Engineer, Python, Backend Developer

Fully Remote - must be UK based

Technify Talent have partnered with an award winning, UK founded, financial tech scale up as the look to bring in an experienced pair of hands to bolster their small, dynamic, high performing engineering team.

You’ll join a small, fast-moving team as a Python engineer, building and shipping features across a product that’s growing. You’ll work mostly on the backend, with some front end work too. The business wants someone who can get up to speed quickly, make sensible decisions with incomplete information and get things live.

• Building and improving backend functionality in Python
• Building and fixing screens using Typescript
• Getting to grips with a complex domain quickly and turning it into working software
• Shipping regularly and working out what matters most alongside the team

• Strong Python experience. The team uses Django today, which is a plus, but strong Python engineers from other frameworks are welcome.
• Comfortable with front end work in Typescript, any modern FE frameworks considered. You don’t need to be a specialist, just able to build and fix screens confidently.
• A track record of shipping quickly and working through ambiguity
• A self-starter who wants to build, and who keeps that energy focused on what moves the business forward
• Comfortability using Ai to improve delivery speed. Not a complete reliance, but an understanding of where and when to use it, and an ability to turn it into production ready code
• Someone who can hit the ground running and get their head around a new codebase and domain fast
