Light Vehicle Technician

About the Role

To carry out scheduled repair and maintenance of the Waitrose eCommerce vehicle fleet and outlying branch vehicles in a professional and competent manner, providing technical support to the on‑site transport department and local Waitrose and John Lewis branches.

Salary: up to £55,000 depending on skills and experience; overtime available.

Working Hours: Full‑time role, 37.5 hours per week on a 2‑week rota, plus 1 in 2 Saturday mornings at premium overtime rate.

• Week 1:
  Monday to Friday – 06:00‑14:00
• Week 2:
  Monday to Friday – 13:30‑21:30

Contract type: Permanent

Location: Magna Park (NDC)

Responsibilities: Deliver high‑quality repairs and maintenance of on‑site eCommerce light commercial fleet and outlying commercial and light commercial vehicles for John Lewis and Waitrose branches and CDHs, ensuring cost‑effective use of spare parts and consumables, and adherence to best practices and current commercial vehicle repair techniques.

Essential Experience /

Qualifications:

• City & Guilds Level 1, 2 and 3 Vehicle technician or equivalent qualification
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence
• Proven background in transport commercial vehicle repairs
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle legislation and roadworthiness
