We are seeking a dedicated Railway Team Member to join ourteam. The Longleat Railway is the 2nd most intensely operated 15inch Gauge Passenger Railway in Europe and we are looking for a Railway Team Member tojoin us to support in operating the railway safely at all times and to ensurewe are constantly delivering a fantastic experience to our guests. This is an exciting and unique role covering all aspects of operating the railway.
Whatdoes this role entail?
Reporting to the Assistant Operations Manager - Attractions,you will keep the safety of the train and its passengers at the forefront ofyour attention at all times, and ensure we are constantly delivering afantastic customer service to our guests. You’ll perform all daily pre-openingsafety inspections on the railway and highlight to the supervisor or teamleader any equipment that needs repair, replacing or adjusting.
Assist with Maintenance of Locomotives, coaches and track in line with the Company, manufacturerand Health & Safety Standards both mechanically and electrically to insuresafe and efficient operation of the Longleat Railway.
- Ensure that all Railway rules and safety regulations are adhered to at all times.
- To provide a Guest focused service at all timesensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards of the brand.
- Perform all daily pre-opening safety inspections on the Railway.
- Driving of diesel Locomotive.
- When driving you are solely responsible for thesafety of the train and passengers.
- Signalman & Guard Duties.
- Take part in Daily, Weekly, Monthly and Yearlyinspection and maintenance for the Railway.
- Full UK driving licence
- You must be a minimum age of 21 to fulfil allroles of Railway Team Member
- Must pass an Occupational Health Examination toensure they meet the ORR Standards for Train Drivers and Signalman.
- Must be able to react quickly and appropriatelyunder pressure in emergency situations and maintain professionalism
- High levels of concentration as all roles aresafety critical with the Railway Team
- Effective communication skills
- Passionate about delivering excellent customer service
- Although not essential, experience of working with diesel and/or steam locomotive engines would be highly advantageous.
This is a permanent 32 hour contract, with working hours tovary over a 7 day rota basis, including weekends, evening and bank holidays as required. The earliest start time is 8am, and the latest finish time is 9pm,varying in accordance with opening times.
