Controller, Accounting, Financial Reporting

Our client is seeking an experienced accounting and finance professional to join their team in a key leadership role. This position offers the opportunity to contribute across financial operations, reporting, cash management, and business planning within a dynamic and growing organization.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, a proactive approach to process improvement, and the ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across the business.

What’s in it for you:

– Salary range: $110,000 – $140,000 plus $20,000 bonus

Key Responsibilities:

– Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and support the timely completion of month-end and year-end close processes.
– Manage working capital activities, including receivables, payables, and cash flow management.
– Monitor financial performance and key business metrics, providing analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.
– Prepare cash flow forecasts and support ongoing liquidity planning.
– Partner with internal teams to ensure effective financial processes and operational alignment.
– Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning initiatives.
– Assist with the development and enhancement of financial controls, policies, and procedures.
– Participate in process improvement and system implementation projects.
– Coordinate activities related to external audits and other compliance requirements.
– Prepare ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

Qualifications:

– CPA designation (Canada) required.
– 7-10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
– Previous public accounting and/or external audit experience strongly preferred.
– Strong understanding of financial reporting, accounting operations, and internal controls.

– Experience with cash flow management, forecasting, and financial analysis.
– Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
– Experience working with ERP systems; SAP experience is considered an asset.
– Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
– Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
– Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to build relationships across departments.
