Join the Town of Milton as a GIS Technician in a hybrid work environment. This full-time position is integral to mapping and data management for municipal services.
Reporting to the Manager of Data Architecture & Application Services, you will provide essential GIS services, including data extraction, maintenance, and quality assurance. Your expertise with ArcGIS will drive data accuracy and support multiple departments in their planning and operational needs.
Key Responsibilities:
• Update and maintain the Town’s digital mapping data
• Analyze and gather mapping requirements from users
• Develop official maps for reports and planning
• Perform quality assurance checks on geospatial data
• Facilitate training sessions for users on GIS applications
Requirements:
• Diploma in GIS, Geomatics, or Environmental Studies
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a GIS role
• Strong knowledge of ArcGIS and AutoCAD
• Excellent problem-solving capabilities
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
