Job Description Duties will include a variety of reception and clerical functions including registering patients; answering telephone; completing requisitions; transcribing doctors' orders; scheduling appointments; ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies; preparing stretchers; filing; data entry on computer system; staff scheduling. Portering patients in wheelchairs and on stretchers as required. Other duties as required.

Medical Office Administration diploma from a recognized college or a minimum of 1 year recent relevant clerical experience in a healthcare setting requiredMedical terminology certificate requiredGrade 12 diploma requiredA minimum of 30 wpm typing speed requiredMust have fast and accurate computer data entry skillsMust have familiarity with Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Word and ExcelExperience using patient related databasesMust be able to prioritize workload and function independently in a busy environmentGood interpersonal and organizational skillsGood verbal and written communication skillsGood customer service skillsAble to diplomatically respond to inquiries from staff, volunteers, patients, family members and members of the general publicMust be able to read, write, speak and understand English fluentlyMust be physically able to perform the job: prolonged periods of time sitting; standing; walking; and pushing and pulling variety of wheeled equipmentSatisfactory employment and attendance record requiredPrevious Emergency experience requiredThe ideal candidate is strong in patient centered care in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment and should be ready to drive change and innovation.
