SUMMARY
The function of the Operations Team Lead is to oversee the processing of all shipments, as well as the movement and monitoring while in route. Lead the handling of shipments ensuring compliance with DSV’s Corporate guidelines as well as government regulations. This role will have direct communication with customers, overseas offices and carriers is required. This role mentors and trains new staff as well as update internal and external process changes from time to time.
KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Daily management and coordination of shipmentsLead and direct desk level, day to day operations of the Operation DepartmentChampion process and procedure to meet or exceed company KPI requirementsEstablish and coordinate schedules with carriers and tender shipmentsPrepare and publish reports as requestedMentor and train new staff from time to timeAct as the first escalation point for operational and customer service issues.Proactively identify problems and swiftly implement the appropriate solutionResponsible for cost containment of shipmentsEvaluate shipments, consolidate loads, select most cost-effective method of deliveryDaily Communication with customer on relevant issues and resolutionManage new account implementation from standard operating procedure to executionAbility to demonstrate deductive logic, problem solving and trouble shooting skillsEffectively deal with any issues that arise within scope of responsibilityWork with Management to continually improve department operations with focus on productivityWill assign and manage workflowResponsible for his/her team performance including staff development, recognition through daily desk level oversight, guidance and coachingPerform another assigned task/responsibilitiesAdhere to all company policies, procedures, and guidelinesAbility to manage conflicts professionally and promote teamwork.Provide operational coverage in the absence of the operator/supervisor.Quality, Health & Safety:

Education and Experience
Education in supply chain logistics, international transportation, or a related field of studyMinimum two (2) years’ experience in a freight forwarding environmentCIFFA certificate, an assetDangerous Goods certification, an assetACR designated status, an asset (for Airfreight only)Skills and Competencies
Proven ability as a self-starter, with ability to plan, organize, and establish priorities to meet goals and achieve resultsGood command of English language, both verbally and writtenAbove average customer service skillsInterpersonal skills that build respected professional relationships internally & externallyDemonstrated good leadership and management skillsExcellent organizational and time management skillsAbility to manage tight deadlinesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skillsAttention to detail and punctualityBe authentic, approachable, open and honestAct as a role model for DSV values and adhere to the Code of ConductLanguage and Computer Skills
