Purchaser

Our client is seeking a Purchaser to join their team. This role is ideal for a proactive and detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment and possesses strong interpersonal skills. You will play a key role in ensuring the continuous flow of raw materials, preventing production disruptions, and managing vendor relationships.

The position offers a stable in-office environment with direct collaboration alongside production and design teams.

What our client has to offer:

• Competitive salary range of $65,000 to $70,000 (with flexibility for exceptional candidates)

Responsibilities:

• Source and procure materials and components in alignment with cost, quality, and delivery expectations.
• Monitor raw material needs and manage min-max inventory levels, utilizing ERP/MRP system prompts for action.
• Proactively forecast material requirements to prevent production issues and avoid last-minute procurement.
• Obtain competitive bids, support contract or pricing negotiations, and monitor market trends for cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct vendor evaluations and maintain strong relationships, resolving minor issues and escalating concerns when necessary.
• Collaborate closely with production and design teams to review material requirements and communicate delays or issues impacting delivery targets.
• Assist in resolving non-conformances, processing vendor returns, and ensuring accurate documentation for invoicing.
• Support engineering change requests related to materials, parts, or suppliers.
• Maintain accurate purchasing data within ERP systems and ensure compliance with company procurement standards.

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience in purchasing or supply chain, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management fundamentals.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, BOMs, and CAD details.
• Proficiency in ERP/MRP systems and MS Office applications.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal stakeholders and external vendors.
• Professional certifications (e.g., CPIM, CSCP) are considered an asset.
