Job Summary:

The Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates.

We are seeking a Kitchen Aide who will support kitchen operations through the safe use, operation, and cleaning of job‑specific equipment while maintaining a clean, organized, and sanitary work environment. In this role, you will promote and enforce the use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure full compliance with the Health & Safety Program, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS regulations, and all related policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and clean all assigned equipment according to approved procedures and the Sanitation Manual.

  • Use and maintain all required PPE, including safety footwear, uniforms, cut‑resistant gloves, goggles, sleeve guards, and hair/beard nets.

  • Comply with Workplace Health & Safety Program requirements, the Occupational Health & Safety Act, WHMIS regulations, and safe work practices.

  • Report workplace accidents, incidents, or unsafe conditions promptly and participate in investigations.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), including a strict no‑jewelry policy.

  • Adhere to facility procedures such as key control, sharp control, and shadow board/tool control.

  • Use proper tools for accurate portioning and task completion.

  • Maintain proper workstation setup with correct ergonomics and safe working height.

  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to support safe, efficient operations.

  • Perform duties according to scheduled hours, operational priorities, and production needs.

  • Follow assigned work schedules and break periods.

  • Complete additional duties as assigned.

  • Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a commercial kitchen, food production, institutional food service, or manufacturing environment, including safe operation of kitchen/food production equipment.

  • Experience working in regulated environments with strong compliance to HACCP, GMP, WHMIS, and health & safety requirements is an asset.

  • Physically capable of lifting at least 25 lbs, performing repeated bending, twisting, reaching, and standing for the full shift; able to work in cold environments; able to follow two‑person lift procedures.

  • Ability to work independently, follow detailed procedures, and take initiative.

  • Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast‑paced environment with shifting priorities.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.

  • Positive attitude with a strong customer‑service mindset.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

  • Solid knowledge of HACCP procedures, food safety standards, and OSHA‑related responsibilities.

  • Must wear appropriate job‑specific PPE at all times.

  • Must obtain Advanced Food Safety Training (FST) within 90 days of employment.

  • Must successfully complete drug and alcohol screening, vulnerable sector check, criminal record check, and any other required security clearances.
