💲 $80,000 – $97,000 + Excellent Benefits Do you love taking food products from concept to commercialization? We're looking for an experienced R&D Food Product Developer / Food Scientist with a passion for bakery and dessert innovation to join a growing food manufacturing company in Milton. This is an exciting opportunity to develop new products, improve existing formulations, and play a key role in bringing innovative products to market.

You'll work closely with Production, Quality, Purchasing, Sales, and Marketing while leading projects from initial concept through plant trials and full-scale production. What You'll Be Doing

Develop and reformulate baked goods, frozen desserts, batters, fillings, and related products for retail and foodservice markets.

Create and maintain product formulations, specifications, SOPs, and technical documentation.

Lead plant trials and successfully scale products from the lab to full production.

Conduct hands-on product development, formulation testing, and troubleshooting in both the R&D kitchen and manufacturing environment.

Prepare product costing, nutrition facts, ingredient declarations, and product specifications.

Source and evaluate new ingredients, packaging materials, and processing methods.

Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, customer requirements, and certification standards.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support successful product launches.

Stay current on food trends, ingredients, and consumer preferences to drive innovation.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

5-10 years of Product Development or Food R&D experience within food manufacturing.

Strong experience working in a CPG or commercial food production environment.

Hands-on bakery or baked goods experience, including products such as pastries, batters, cakes, fillings, desserts, or similar.

Proven experience leading plant trials and scaling products into production.

Post-secondary education in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related discipline (international education accepted).

Must reside within approximately 40 minutes of Milton.

Combination of office, R&D lab/kitchen, and production floor.

Monday-Friday schedule.

Flexibility is required during plant trials, including occasional early mornings or extended days (time is adjusted accordingly).

Compensation & Benefits Salary: $80,000-$97,000 (flexible for exceptional experience) Benefits Include
