We are seeking an experienced Welding / Fitting Technician to perform welding, fitting, fabrication, and assembly of metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on welding skills, blueprint‑reading ability, and experience working in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding as required.
Fit, align, assemble, and weld metal components and structures.
Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, welding symbols, and specifications .
Measure, cut, grind, drill, and prepare materials for fabrication.
Set up welding machines and select appropriate welding parameters.
Use grinders, saws, drills, measuring tools, and other fabrication equipment.
Inspect completed welds and assemblies for quality, dimensions, and workmanship.
Identify and correct fitting or welding defects.
Perform tack welding and final welding of fabricated components.
Ensure proper alignment, spacing, and dimensions before welding.
Follow production schedules and complete work within required timelines.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and wear required PPE.
Assist with other fabrication and assembly duties as required.
Requirements Previous experience as a Welder, Fitter, Welding Technician, or Fabricator .
Strong MIG welding and fitting experience required.
TIG and Stick welding experience considered an asset.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and blueprints .
Strong knowledge of welding symbols, measurements, and fabrication techniques.
Comfortable using hand and power tools.
Ability to use measuring equipment such as tape measures, squares, and calipers.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team.
Physically capable of lifting materials and working in a manufacturing environment.
Welding certification is considered an asset.
