Maternal Newborn Registered Nurse

Elevate your nursing career with a temporary part-time role as a Registered Nurse in the Maternal Newborn program at Halton Healthcare in Milton. Provide essential care for mothers and newborns in a family-friendly environment.

In this position, you'll be responsible for Level 2A Maternal Newborn care, catering to pregnancies of 34 weeks or greater, and assisting with both vaginal and Caesarean births. You'll work across various areas including the operative birthing suite and recovery room. Flexibility is essential, along with expertise in prenatal assessment and triage to ensure the well-being of families.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide prenatal assessment and triage for expectant mothers

• Assist with vaginal and Caesarean births in the birthing suite

• Support breastfeeding and provide care in the recovery room

• Ensure family presence and involvement throughout the unit

• Perform venipuncture and IVs as needed

Requirements:

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Minimum 2 years perinatal experience required

• Neonatal Resuscitation Provider certification completion

• Basic Life Support certification at hire

• Commitment to Family Centred Care principles
