LOSS PREVENTION SPECIALIST

Canada - XYY4 in Milton, Ontario is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented Loss Prevention Specialist to join the team.
The Loss Prevention Specialist supports the Health and Safety Manager in the implementation and continuous improvement of the site's Loss Prevention and Security Program. The role coordinates day-to-day loss prevention activities, conducts investigations, supports physical security operations, monitors contracted security services, helps reduce inventory shrink, and promotes security awareness throughout the facility.
Reporting relationship: This role reports to the Health and Safety Manager and works under the Manager's direction.
Employment status : Permanent, full-time position requiring 40 hours per week.
Key responsibilities Loss prevention and investigations responsibilities Protect company assets by preventing, detecting, and investigating theft, fraud, inventory loss, cargo loss, product damage, policy violations, workplace misconduct, and other loss-related incidents.
Monitor and analyze inventory shrink, loss trends, inventory discrepancies, and potential risk areas; identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Conduct or assist with authorized investigations under the direction of the Health and Safety Manager, including interviews, CCTV review, access-control review, evidence collection, and evidence preservation.
Maintain confidentiality, objective documentation, complete investigation files, and chain of custody for physical and electronic evidence.
Partner with Operations, ICQA, Human Resources, Legal, Security, and site leadership to support investigations and preventive measures.
Escalate significant findings to the Health and Safety Manager for review and further action.
Physical security responsibilities Support the monitoring of facility physical security, including CCTV, access control, intrusion alarms, visitor management, perimeter fencing, gates, doors, locks, key control, and other security technologies.
Conduct routine and unannounced security inspections throughout the warehouse, offices, parking areas, trailer yard, and surrounding property, and report findings to the Health and Safety Manager.
Monitor employee, contractor, visitor, and vendor access and assist with badge issuance, deactivation, permission reviews, and access-control compliance.
Conduct trailer seal audits, trailer verification, yard inspections, and reviews of trailer movement to reduce cargoloss and unauthorized removals.
Monitor compliance with high-value product handling, secure storage, and restricted-area requirements.
Respond to security incidents in accordance with established procedures and promptly escape significant mattersto the Health and Safety Manager.
Security operations support Support the Health and Safety Manager in overseeing the contracted security provider, including Securitas.
Act as the day-to-day point of contact for routine operational matters and coordinate security activities in accordance with established procedures and post orders.
Monitor security staffing levels, post coverage, attendance, patrol completion, and security documentation, andreport deficiencies and recommendations to the Health and Safety Manager.
Conduct routine inspections of security posts, patrol activities, and documentation to verify compliance with site requirements.
Review security occurrence reports, patrol logs, visitor records, access-control records, and incident documentation, and elevate concerns as required.
Assist with periodic reviews of security operations, staffing, patrol routes, post assignments, and service performance, and recommend improvements to the Health and Safety Manager.
Operational loss prevention and program support Perform audits of warehouse processes, including receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping,returns, and inventory control, to identify gaps and recommend solutions.
Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the site's Loss Prevention and Security Program.
Assist with developing and updating security procedures, standards, post orders, risk assessments, and corrective-action tracking.
Support inventory accuracy initiatives, cycle counts, compliance reviews, and investigations involving inventoryvariances.
Assist with implementing corrective actions arising from investigations, audits, and security assessments.
Maintain Loss Prevention documentation, investigation files, audit records, and related security records.
