We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Gate Automation Technician to join our team! Summary

Superior Fence & Rail specializes in high-quality fence and gate systems, providing a supportive environment for professional growth. As a Gate Automation Technician, you'll install, maintain, and repair automated gate and access control systems for various clients. This role involves hands-on installation, troubleshooting, and ensuring quality and safety. You'll collaborate with teams and provide technical expertise. Work hours are typically 6:45 AM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with the ability to work weekends/evenings.

Job Responsibilities Installation:
  • Install gates, posts, panels, and automation systems for various projects.
  • Install access control systems (keypads, card readers, etc.).
  • Ensure code compliance.
  • Conduct site surveys.
  • Assemble components per specifications.
Maintenance and Repair:
  • Perform preventative maintenance on gate automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot/repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
  • Analyze schematics/drawings.
  • Diagnose failures and recommend action.
  • Estimate repair costs.
  • Calibrate sensors/configure software.
  • Complete troubleshooting, minor and major mechanical repairs, control system corrections, hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting, component replacement, and evaluating system damage.
Documentation and Training:
  • Document work using service forms/records.
  • Train clients on system operation/maintenance.
  • Train technicians on installation/maintenance.
  • Maintain detailed records.
  • Provide client technical support.
Collaboration and Technical Support:
  • Collaborate with technicians on installations.
  • Provide guidance on diagnostics, repair, and installation.
  • Work with manufacturer technical support.
Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance:
  • Operate/maintain truck, trailer, tools, and building/supplies.
  • Operate forklift/construction equipment.
  • Ensure DOT compliance and maintain medical card.
Other Responsibilities:
  • Weld steel/aluminum.
  • Travel for short durations.
  • Work weekends/evenings.
  • Adhere to safety policies.
Minimum Requirements:
  • 2 years of Gate Automation experience.
  • Strong knowledge of electronics, hydraulics, mechanics, motors, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Pass drug screen/background check.
  • Experience with access control systems is preferred.
  • Industry certifications (AFA, DHI) are a plus.

Salary and Benefits :
  • Staring pay ranges between $49,920 to $55,120
