Role
Description:
The Donor Development Officer supports E3RF’s fundraising efforts by managing the full donor lifecycle—prospect identification, donor conversion, stewardship, retention, and recapture. This role grows and strengthens the foundation’s donor base by cultivating relationships with existing financial partners, engaging new contributors, and activating CRM insights to drive sustainable philanthropic growth.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, cultivate, and steward major donors, corporate partners, and foundations to grow annual and multi-year giving.
- Convert qualified prospects into committed donors through personalized outreach and relationship-building.
- Develop individualized engagement and stewardship plans for top prospects.
- Utilize the CRM to track activity, monitor engagement trends, identify lapsed donors, and proactively activate recapture strategies.
- Manage a personal portfolio of donors and prospects with clear revenue, retention, and activity goals.
- Lead donor retention efforts using data-informed touchpoints and consistent follow-up.
- Build and execute annual development strategies aligned with organizational goals and mission priorities.
- Collaborate with leadership to refine fundraising priorities, messaging frameworks, and cases for support.
- Guide donor journey strategy from first touch to long‑term partnership.
- Support the Managing Director and Director of Partnerships & Communications with donor meetings, presentations, materials, and events.
- Maintain accurate donor records and track progress toward revenue, retention, and recapture metrics.
- Performance is evaluated based on revenue growth, donor retention, portfolio health, and quality of stewardship.
- Represent E3 Ranch Foundation at events, site visits, mission trips, and partner gatherings.
- Travel regularly to meet donors in person (approximately 30–50%, depending on season).
- Support or oversee fundraising events, cultivation dinners, and small donor gatherings.
- Partner with program staff to gather impact stories, data, and testimonials for donor communications.
- Collaborate with communications and marketing teams to produce donor‑ready messaging and stewardship materials.
- Ensure consistent stewardship practices and partner experience across departments.

Professional
Experience and Skills:
3+ years of experience in nonprofit development, major gifts, sales, or other relationship‑driven roles. Demonstrated success in securing and stewarding major gifts or key accounts. Experience applying consultative sales principles, relationship‑based selling, or partnership development within a mission‑driven or values‑based organization. Proven ability to improve donor retention, convert prospects, and recapture lapsed donors using strategy and data insights. Proficiency with donor management databases and CRM fundraising tools.
Outstanding communication, storytelling, and presentation skills. Familiarity with donor‑centered messaging frameworks (e.g., Story Brand or similar). High emotional intelligence and the ability to connect authentically with diverse audiences.
