Associate Lecturer, Intro to Game Design
Curry College's Video Game Studies Minor, housed in the Communication Department, is seeking instructors to teach various Video Game courses, including an adjunct instructor to teach Introduction to Game Design Spring 2026. The intro design course does not require students to learn design software (like Unity or the Unreal Engine); however, they are expected to include a digital prototype made in MIT Scratch at this stage of their portfolio.
There may be opportunity for the right candidate to teach additional courses Fall 2026, including "Introduction to Games," "Game Development," "Game Theory," "Game Design II," and other relevant topics.
One section of the Intro design course is being offered Spring 2026. That course introduces students to the core principles of game design, including gameplay mechanics, rules, balance, cards and tabletop modeling, a prototype in Scratch, play testing, and iteration.
Job Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Game Design, Computer Science, Interactive Media, Art, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Proficiency in PC and Apple Operating Systems.
- College teaching experience preferred.
- Demonstrated understanding of basic programming or logic principles of digital system design.
- Familiarity with tabletop and card game design processes, including prototyping and play testing.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
$$3,735 per 3 credit course

Eligibility for promotion to Lecturer and an increased rate of compensation are negotiated between the College and the Curry College AAUP.
