Spanish Teacher Responsibilities- Teach four Spanish courses ranging from Beginner to Advanced for students in grades 9-12.
- Develop engaging lesson plans and curricula tailored to the needs and skill levels of individual students.
- Teach Spanish language skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing through a variety of instructional methods.
- Create opportunities for students to practice conversational Spanish and improve pronunciation and comprehension.
- Teaching students about Spanish culture, which may include festivals, traditional food, and dress, and social conventions.
- Organizing fun events where students can showcase their Spanish language skills.
- Communicate with parents regarding student progress and behavior.
- Participate in regular professional development activities to stay current with best practices and innovation in language education.
- Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Linguistics, Education, or related required. Master’s degree preferred.
- Fluency in Spanish required.
- At least 3 years of previous teaching experience required.
- No teaching license or credential is required.
- Strong interpersonal as well as written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, dependable, and eager to contribute to the school community.
- Willingness to assist with extracurricular and school community activities.
- Knowledge of ACTFL standards preferred.
Compensation and benefit packages are competitive but will differ by school and will typically depend on geographic location, your experience, and your level of degree.
