Accounting Specialist

Vaco is partnering with an organization in the Milwaukee area to add a motivated Staff Accountant to the team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a bachelor's degree in accounting or finance who enjoys variety in their daily work and wants to develop further in accounting operations.

• Supporting daily accounting activities and performing quality checks on peer work
• Handling adjustments related to inventory and analyzing related variances
• Preparing and posting journal entries and assisting with monthly close processes
• Reconciling general ledger accounts, including cash and accrual-related entries
• Assisting with annual audits and compliance requirements
• Helping with year-end reporting tasks, such as preparing 1099s
• Working closely with the accounting supervisor on special projects and daily workflows
• Verifying invoice details against supporting documents and ensuring accurate coding by location, department, and expense category
• Entering vendor invoices into the financial system

• Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office proficiency
• Prior experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems
