Responsibilities
- Deliver tax and business advisory services and tax compliance to middle‑market clients.
- Work side‑by‑side with firm leadership to serve clients, build the business, and directly impact the firm’s success.
- Coach a group of talented staff, developing their technical and professional skills.
- Provide accounting, bookkeeping, and prepared or compiled financial services.
- Review and analyze accounting records, provide analysis and consultation, and communicate with clients regarding accounting and business matters.
- Deliver best‑in‑class customer service with responsiveness, timeliness, professionalism, and accuracy.
- Lead and plan client engagements, continuously evaluate processes and procedures, and implement efficiencies and internal controls.
- Provide recommendations for business and process improvements based on client operations and objectives.
- Manage and build client relationships, act as liaison to resolve client issues, and assist team leaders with additional services.
- Effectively delegate and oversee work efforts by setting goals, providing resources, removing obstacles, and scheduling deadlines.
- Maintain current knowledge of local, state, and federal tax practices and laws.
- Assist with managing client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensuring client profitability targets are met.
- Network and build strong relationships internally and externally with clients and the community.
- Invest in personal professional development through firm‑wide learning and development programs.
- Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy.
- Participate in social activities and team outings that encourage work‑life balance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting; master’s or advanced degree desirable.
- CPA or JD required.
- Five (5)+ years of experience providing tax compliance, accounting and advisory services in a professional services firm.
- Two (2)+ years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates.
- Demonstrated management, analytical, organizational, interpersonal, project management, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead and supervise others, deliver exceptional client service, and show commitment to continuous learning.
- Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred.
